Antibiotics
Liofilchem® antibiotic-impregnated discs are used for testing antibiotic sensitivity of certain microorganisms (Kirby-Bauer test, NCCLS). Depending on the effectiveness of the antibiotic, bacteria on the agar where antibiotic-impregnated discs have been placed will not grow and a clear circular area will appear.
Antibiotics are formulated and renovated constantly following recommendation from NCCLS, CLSI, EUCAST or BSAC in paper filter discs as directed by WHO and FDA. All discs are marked with an abbreviation of the antibiotic and are supplied in one pack of 50 discs or sets of 5 packs with 50 discs each.
